Take the Fruit Passion challenge

We’ve been up and down the country challenging people to drink one of our 200ml cartons as fast as they can. Hundreds of people at various events have taken the Fruit Passion Challenge. Avec Design asked us to help with the events as part of their campaign to promote Fairtrade. The rules are simple:

  • The regulation carton is Fruit Passion Pure Tropical Juice or Pure Orange Juice.
  • Only the straw supplied with the carton is to be used.
  • No extra holes may be pierced into the carton.
  • Fast time claims must be verified with a video recorded stop watch
  • Cartons used in competitions can be either Pure Orange or Pure Tropical Juice and the cartons used on video should be confirmed at the start.
  • Extreme variations are attempted at the participants own risk and should only be attempted by experts in any particular discipline.

The challenge has also been taken up around the country by students in Hertfordshire, Edinburgh, Bristol and London. Billy Bragg, Otis Gibbs and the New Rhodes have been filmed taking the challenge.

UNISON Branches have organised juice challenges at many of their events.
There are various videos that can been viewed on youtube.
Currently the record stands a shade over six seconds set at Billy Bragg gig in Exeter.

Audience members at Billy Bragg gigs were invited to take the challenge which involves drinking a 200ml carton of Fruit Passion juice in under 12 seconds, the winners were given goody bags containing Fruit Passion Juice, a bag of Liberation Nuts and a bar of Divine Chocolate.

Have a go before the launch of our new bottles and we say ‘bye bye’ to the cartons!

We’ll keep you updated on future events, so keep checking this page!
